December 23, 2002 - SPRING 2003 SEASON SET TO START - ECSA Recreation and Challenge season to begin on February 22. The early start is due to the NCYSA starting the Snickers Cup and Challenge Cup the first week in May which would mean that there would be no referees for our end of the season ECSA tournament.

December 23, 2002 - SPRING 2003 REGISTRATION - Registration for the Spring 2003 season for youth recreational league will be held on the following dates: January 10 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, January 12 from 1:00pm-4:00pm and January 17 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Blue Creek Elementary School. All players that didn't play in the Fall 2002 season must bring a copy of their birth certificate in order to register. There will be no exceptions. Also we are asking that you bring a 12 pack of name brand can drink for the concession stand. A "printable" youth registration form is available on the FORMS page.

December 11, 2002 - CONGRATULATIONS SW UNITED AGAIN - Congratulations to the SW United U12 Challenge Girls team for winning the Old Dominion Cup in Virginia Beach over the Dec. 7-8 weekend. November 12, 2002 - CAMSL INDOOR SOCCER REGISTRATION - We will be having indoor soccer registration for CAMSL age groups U7-U8 on Nov 21st from 5:00pm - 7:00pm @ the Southwest Middle School concession stand. Please complete a team roster form. Roster forms are available HERE (Microsoft Excel Format). Since all teams will not be registering for indoor soccer, individuals may sign up. These players will be placed on teams, if there are open spots available on teams in their age groups. The cost per registered team is $125.00. This must be paid before a team can register. November 12, 2002 - CONGRATULATIONS - Congratulations to all the SWSC teams that participated and won medals in the ECSA and CAMSL soccer tournaments. The SWSC was well represented at each tournament. GREAT JOB to all the coaches, parents and kids who represented the SWSC.

October 31, 2002 - SPECIAL THANKS END OF THE SEASON!!! - The SWSC would like to thank all the coaches, parents and volunteers that have coached, worked in the concession, and helped in maintaining the fields. Because of your support and hard work the SWSC has enjoyed a successful Fall 2002 season.

October 21, 2002 - SOUTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL GAME - The Southwest High School soccer team has a home game @ 7:00pm tonight Oct 21st. There will be free admission for all SWSC players that wear their jersey to the game. Lets all come out and support our Stallion soccer team. GO STALLIONS!!!!!!

August 19, 2002 - SW UNITED U-12 GIRLS WIN TOURNAMENT - The SW UNITED U-12 Girls Challenge Team were Champions in the Classic/Challenge division at the Burger King / Twin City Soccer Classic in Winston-Salem, NC on Aug 17-18. Congratulations. Photos are available in the PHOTOS area.

August 9, 2002 - SWSC COACHES MEETING - AUG 12 - There will be a coaches meeting for all divisions on Aug 12th @ the Southwest Middle School. Micro coaches will meet from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, U9 & above coaches 7:30pm to 8:30pm. ALL coaches need to plan on attending this meeting to discuss the upcoming Fall season.

August 7, 2002 - FALL 2002 ADULT LEAGUE REGISTRATION - Registration for the Fall 2002 season for the adult league will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 5:00pm - 6:30pm and again on Tuesday, August 27th from 5:00pm - 6:30pm at the SWSC concession stand at the Southwest Middle School. June 6, 2002 - SWSC GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING • JUNE 18 - The Southwest Soccer Club will be holding a General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, June 18th in the Southwest Middle School cafeteria @ 7:00 pm. The agenda of the meeting is to modify Article VII of the by-laws and elections. All SWSC members are encouraged to attend this meeting and be apart of the decisions that affect you and your kids.

June 6, 2002 - SWSC CHALLENGE TRYOUTS - SWSC Challenge Tryouts will be held at the SWSC located at Southwest Middle school. Tryouts dates are as follows:

U-10 boys and girls are June 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
U-12 boys and girls are June 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
U-14 girls, U-16 boys and girls are June 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
U-14 boys are June 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All participates are to bring a soccer ball, water bottle, and must wear shinguards. For more information contact Bobby Bell at 455-2237.

June 6, 2002 - COACHES CLINIC • JULY 21 - There will be a coaches clinic on Sunday July 21 @ 5:30pm at the SWSC fields following the Southwest Soccer Camp. All SWSC coaches are encouraged to come out and learn from proven coaches on how to coach youth soccer at its highest level.

June 6, 2002 - SOUTHWEST SOCCER CAMP • JULY 20-24 - Southwest Soccer Camp: Boys and girls ages 5-15 are eligible for this camp which will be held on July 20-24 at Southwest Middle School Soccer Fields. Mt. Olive College Head coach Jerry Riggs, Southwest Head Coach Jeff Cobb, White Oak Head Coach Buddy Carroll and Assistant Jamie Roush along with other area high school coaches and former WOHS players will direct the camp. Cost is $60 per player. For more information, call 326-4443. The times of the camp is as followed:

May 9, 2002 - ELECTION NOTICE - Congratulations to Graham Carroll and Allen Moore for being elected by the SWSC members to serve as officers on the SWSC Executive Board. Graham Carroll was elected to the position of Vice-President and Allen Moore elected to the position of Treasurer. These elected candidates take office July 1, 2002. Special thanks to all the SWSC members that assisted in the election process insuring that it was fair and accurate.

February 9, 2002 - 9th ANNUAL SEASIDE SOCCER CLASSIC - MAY 18,19 - The First Union 9th Annual Seaside Soccer Classic tournament is scheduled for May 18-19, 2002 in Wilmington, NC for Classic / Challenge teams. February 5, 2002 - SWSC WORK DAY - FEB 16 - There will be a SWSC work day on Feb. 16th @ the SWSC Fields from 10:00am to 4:00pm to get the fields ready for the Spring 2002 season. There is alot of work that needs to be done so please come out and be apart of this work. Please bring your yard tools. February 4, 2002 - COACHES MEETING FEB 7th - There will be a coaches meeting for all divisions on Feb 7th @ the Southwest Middle School in room #404. Micro coaches will meet from 6:00pm to 6:30pm, U9 & above coaches 6:30pm to7:00pm and Challenge coaches 7:00pm to 7:30pm. All coaches need to plan on attending this meeting to discuss the upcoming spring season.

January 8, 2002 - SPRING ADULT 2002 REGISTRATION - Registration for the spring 2002 season for the adult league will be held on Saturday, February 16 from 10:00am - 1:00pm and again on Sunday, February 17 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm atBlue Creek Elementary School cafeteria. A "printable" adult registration form is available on the Forms page.

January 7, 2002 - SWSC General Meeting - There will be an SWSC General Meeting on Thursday, January 10 at 7:00PM at the Southwest Middle School. Please come out and be a part of your soccer club.

January 7, 2002 - SPRING 2002 REGISTRATION - Registration for the spring 2002 season for youth recreational league will be held on the following dates: January 27 from 1:00pm-5:00pm and February 1 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Blue Creek Elementary School. Late sign-up will be held February 4 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the SWSC concession stand. All players must bring a copy of their birth certificate in order to register. There will be no exceptions. Also we are asking that you bring a 12 pack of name brand can drink for the concession stand. A "printable" youth registration form is available on the Forms page.
