October 29, 2003 - SOCCER COMPLEX UPDATE - The SWSC is in the process of clearing the land in which the soccer complex will be located on. About 3/4 of the land is cleared and the rest to be completed by the first week of November. Once the clearing is finished, we will then start the process of prepping the land for irrigation and grass. We will be having several SWSC work days in order to help with this processing. All members are encouraged to come out and be a part of the development of our new soccer complex. This will be an exciting time for all the SWSC members. Look for further updates coming soon. May 20, 2003 - CONGRATULATIONS SW UNITED GIRLS !!! - Congratulations to the SW United U12 Challenge Girls team for winning the NCYSA Challenge Cup Tournament. After wins over North Meck Mutiny, JASA Lancers, Greensboro United, they made it to the Final Four where they defeated the CASL Fusion 3-0 in their semi-final match. May 9, 2003 - CLASSIC TEAM TRYOUTS • MAY 31 & JUNE 1 - Onslow County Classic Soccer Association (OCSA) will hold Classic tryouts on Saturday & Sunday, May 31 and June 1, 2003. All tryouts will be held at the Woodlands Soccer Park, Jacksonville (JASA Fields). These tryouts are for ages U11 to U18 Boys and Girls Teams. Boys tryouts will be held from 9am-12pm on Saturday and 4-6pm on Sunday. Girls tryouts will be held from 1-4pm Saturday and 1-3pm on Sunday. January 21, 2003 - SPRING BREAK SOCCER CAMP - Southwest Soccer Camp: Boys and girls ages 5-15 are eligible for this camp which will be held on March 10-13 at Southwest Middle School Soccer Fields. Jerry Riggs (Head Men's Soccer Coach at Mount Olive College), local high school coaches and local high school players will be conducting the camp. All campers should wear comfortable clothing for soccer and must wear shin guards. Please bring a soccer ball and a water bottle. The time of the camp is 9am-12noon and the cost is $45 per player.
