December 17, 2005 - NSCAA GOALKEEPING STATE DIPLOMA - There will be NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Goalkeeping Course available on January 21st at Jacksonville High School hosted by OCSA. The GK course is great for ANY coach that works with a team that uses keepers.. Additional details available HERE.

December 6, 2005 - '94 &'95 ODP CENTERS FOR 2006 - Announcement: Jacksonville will be hosting an ODP Center for 94 and 95 Calendar Year Players (Boys & Girls) for 2006. The Center's Director will be Jerry Riggs, Head Men's Soccer Coach Mt. Olive College. Additional info available HERE.

November 29, 2005 - CAMSL INDOOR SOCCER SCHEDULES AVAILABLE - CAMSL Indoor Soccer begins on December 3rd. Schedules are now available by week in the CAMSL area HERE.

November 2, 2005 - NEW U6 INDOOR LEAGUE - SWSC is excited to introduce a new U6 indoor league this year. Any SWSC teams interested in participating in this U6 indoor season should contact Graham Carroll @ 330-5801. Games will be played at Northwoods Park Middle School on Saturdays during the month of December or January.

November 2, 2005 - SWSC INDOOR SOCCER REGISTRATION - We will be having Indoor soccer registration for ages U6-U19 on November 7th from 5:00pm-6:00pm @ the Southwest Middle School concession stand. Please complete a team roster form. Roster forms are available HERE(Microsoft Excel Format). Since all teams will not be registering for indoor soccer, individuals may sign up. These players will be placed on teams, if there are open spots available on teams in their age groups. The cost per registered NCYSA team is $150.00 ages U6-U8 and $175.00 ages U9-U19. Any player that didn't play in the Fall 2005 season will have to pay an additional $10.00 for insurance and registration fee with NCYSA. This must be paid before a team can register. All coaches and teams will have to be voted on and approved by the BOD of the SWSC. October 20, 2005 - SOUTHWEST SOCCER CLUB NIGHT - Monday night, October 24th @ 7:00 PM at Stallion Stadium is Southwest Soccer Club night. Any Southwest soccer club player or Southwest area OCSA players under 14 get in free with their Jersey on. Coaches who bring at least 6 players get in free also. The teams will register at the gate and will be recognized at halftime. Let's come out and support the Stallions.

September 8, 2005 - RECREATIONAL & CHALLENGE UNIFORMS - SWSC Recreational and Challenge uniforms can be picked up at the SWSC concession stand Friday, Sept. 9th from 6:00-6:30pm. We ask that each team manager or coach pick up the uniforms for their teams. We will have the uniforms sorted by teams which will make the process so much easier. Uniforms will only be given to a team manager, coach or an appointed representative from the team. No individual jerseys will be handed out. September 5, 2005 - MIDDLE SCHOOL GAMES & SWSC PRACTICES
Listed below are the Southwest Middle School home soccer game dates. All SWSC teams that practice at the concession stand area soccer fields need to make arrangements to practice somewhere else or schedule your practice after the games are over (~6:30pm). Coaches, we can not be practicing while the game is going on. The Middle School allows us to use these fields and we appreciate the administration's cooperation. July 27, 2005 - FALL 2005 REGISTRATION
Registration for the Fall 2005 season for youth recreational leagues will be held on the following dates: August 6th and August 13th from 10:00am-2:00pm at Southwest Middle School Cafeteria area. All new players must bring a copy of their birth certificate in order to register. Also we are asking that you bring a 12 pack of name brand can drink for the concession stand. July 27, 2005 - REGISTRATION FEES INCREASE
There will be an increase in registration fees this year due to ECSA increasing their field fees which each club has to pay and NCYSA increasing their fees. The SWSC has always tried to keep the fees at a minimum and will strive to keep fees as low as we can so soccer doesn't become to expensive for our club members. This increase was something the SWSC couldn't control. Hopefully, we will be able to hold the line at these prices for some time.

June 27, 2005 - CONGRATULATIONS SWSC SPIRITS • U8 BOYS
Congratulations to the SWSC Spirits, a U8 Boys Recreational team, for winning the GOLD medal at the State Games of North Carolina over the June 25-26 weekend in Cary, NC. They won their matches 2-0, 4-0, 4-1, and 2-0. Great job boys!!!!! The Team: Ethan, Trey, Mason, Austin, Zachary, Nick, Anthony, Bronston and Coach Brian Phillips.

June 7, 2005 - CONGRATULATIONS • U12 SW BLAZE GIRLS
Congratulations to the SW Blaze (U12 Girls Rec team) on winning SILVER in the ECSA Spring 2005 End-of-Season tournament, April 16-17, 2005. The Blaze lost a very hard fought match to the Swansboro Storm in a penalty kick shoot-out after the game ended in a tie. Congratulations to the Blaze for a tremendous season!

Mount Olive College Elite Technical Soccer Camp - Jerry Riggs, Head Men's Soccer Coach, at Mt. Olive College will be offering a camp focused on technical foundation of the individual player. Emphasis will be on individual touches on the ball, ball at the feet drills, turns with the ball, ball mastery, dribbling, and speed and agility with the ball. The Spring 2005 ECSA tournament starts this weekend April 16-17. Site locations, game times and brackets are posted on ECSA website. Seedings for the tournament will be finalized Tuesday night and added to the brackets on the ECSA website Wednesday. Coaches, please make sure that your parents are informed of the tournament sites and game times for the weekend once you receive the final brackets.

There will be an eliteGK Striker vs. Goalkeeper Finishing Camp on June 6-9 @ Woodland Park Fields from 9am-4pm. The camp will be open to U11-U18 Classic/Challenge players. April 1st is the deadline for children to register for their FREE 2005 season pass to all the Wilmington Hammerheads regular season home games. February 24, 2005 - U.S. SOCCER NATIONAL CHALLENGE • MARCH 18-20
OSome of the best young soccer talent in the country will be showcased at the UNCW Soccer Stadium on March 18-20 when UNC Wilmington plays host to the United States Under-17 Boy's National Team in a series of three matches with North Carolina schools in the U.S. National Soccer Challenge.
The national team will play Davidson on Friday, March 18, at 7 p.m. Seahawks on Saturday, March 19, at 7 p.m. Wake Forest will battle the club on Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m. to wrap up the weekend.

The conduct of coaches, family members, and spectators is critical to this process and the experience your child might have playing the game of soccer. SWSC Recreational uniforms can be picked up at the SWSC concession stand Friday Feb. 18th from 4:30-6:00pm. We ask that each team manager or coach pick up the uniforms for their teams. Uniforms will only be given to a team manager, coach or an appointed representative from the team. We are still in the process of filling orders due to the late response from several teams in turning in their orders. Please be patient. We should have the orders completed before the start of the season. Coaches need to make sure that they have collected all the money for each uniform on their team. NO jerseys will be handed out without payment!!!!!!

February 8, 2005 - SPRING 2005 SEASON SET TO START
ECSA Recreation and Challenge season to begin on February 19th. The early start is once again due to the NCYSA starting the Snickers Cup and Challenge Cup the first week in May which would mean that there would be no referees for our end of the season ECSA tournament. Let's have great spring season with lots of fun!!!!

January 11, 2005 - NCSAA GOALKEEPING LEVEL 1 DIPLOMA COURSE
On January 23rd, from 1-6pm, in Wilmington, the Port City Soccer Club will host the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America's Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma Course. The overall objective of the Goalkeeping Level I Diploma Course is to explore some of the myths and mystiques surrounding the goalkeeping function. The six-hour course is directed towards the team coach - not the specialist goalkeeper coach. The object is to empower the coach with knowledge and practice methods that will enable the coach to evaluate a goalkeeper in game situations and then design an appropriate practice program for goalkeepers in and outside of team practices. The course includes lecture (theory) and field (practical) sessions. Course Fee: Level I - $35/person, 15-person minimum.
